Description

Golden Temple Sri Harmandir Sahib 3D Wall Art Sculpture — Sacred Architecture in Handcrafted Relief

Sri Harmandir Sahib — the Golden Temple of Amritsar — is among the most architecturally distinctive and spiritually significant sacred sites in the world, its gilded structure reflected in the surrounding Amrit Sarovar creating one of the most recognisable images in Sikh tradition and Indian heritage. This handcrafted 3D wall art sculpture renders that iconic architectural composition in layered high relief, crafted from epoxy resin reinforced with fiberglass, with a distinctive gold and silver dual-tone finish that captures the luminous, reflective character of the original structure as a relief mural of genuine artistic and devotional depth.

At 3 × 5 feet, the wide horizontal format suits the panoramic architectural composition naturally, with the dual-tone relief surface creating a shifting interplay of warm gold and silver tones as ambient light moves across the piece throughout the day. Available in both Framed and Unframed formats.

Available Finish Options

  • Gold and Silver — A dual-tone metallic finish that blends warm gold and cool silver across the full architectural composition, reflecting the gilded and reflective character of Sri Harmandir Sahib's actual structure and its water reflection.

Golden Temple Sri Harmandir Sahib 3D Wall Art Mural: Sacred Architecture in Relief

The History and Deliberate Design of Sri Harmandir Sahib

The Amrit Sarovar — the Pool of Immortal Nectar — was excavated by Guru Ram Das, the fourth Sikh Guru, in 1577 CE, and the city of Amritsar grew around it. The foundation stone of Harmandir Sahib was laid in 1588 by Hazrat Mian Mir, a Muslim Sufi saint from Lahore — a deliberate act of interfaith harmony that set the architectural and philosophical tone for the entire structure. Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth Guru, designed the temple to sit lower than the surrounding ground, so that even the humblest devotee had to physically step down to enter — a rare architectural expression of humility built into the structure itself.

Unlike most temples that face a single direction, Harmandir Sahib was built with four entrances on all four sides, signifying that it is open to worshippers of all castes, religions, and backgrounds simultaneously. The gold plating seen today was commissioned by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the early 19th century — approximately 750 kg of gold donated as an act of royal devotion recorded in Sikh historical chronicles.

Why This Mural Suits Sikh Households and Institutional Spaces

Sri Harmandir Sahib receives over 100,000 pilgrims and visitors daily — more than the Taj Mahal — making it the most visited religious site in India and the most universally recognised symbol of Sikh identity and heritage worldwide.

For homes, prayer rooms, and institutional spaces where a visual representation of Sikh heritage is the intent, the Golden Temple composition carries a significance that no single figure or portrait can match — it is the physical home of the Guru Granth Sahib, the eternal Guru of the Sikh tradition, rendered here in Gold and Silver dual-tone relief that captures both the gilded structure and its reflection in the Amrit Sarovar.
